Sammy has never been one to like food. He always wants his bottle. Whenever I try to feed him actual food he pushes the spoon away and starts throwing a fit.

When I came across Amara Organic Baby Food I was super shocked that it was dehydrated. It is a really cool concept and convenient. I absolutely love baby food pouches, just because its so easy to hand Sammy and I can continue on with my life. So finding another food pouch was kind of exciting for me! 😉

We tried the Maqui Berry Apple Sauce packet and WOW! I always taste the food that I feed him just to be sure it taste somewhat good. This one is really tasty! It taste like real fruit and it should because well…. it is! You simply just add water, formula, or breastmilk until you reach the consistency you would like.

Their drying technique gently dries the food via pressure instead of high heat that the pouches and jars have to use. This way they can lock in those original nutrients and vitamins from the fruits and veggies.

I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for easy organic baby food that taste good! You can easily click the link below and browse through their shop of organics.  Only the best for your baby! 😀

Only the Best for Your Baby

Creamy Tomato Pasta

As a stay at home mom I’m constantly looking for recipes and yummy food to try. I love to cook but always afraid that my food isn’t going to taste the best; It’s just one of those things that I will never get over. I found a very similar recipe and decided to put my own spin on it. It is now a favorite.

Things You’ll Need:

1 box of linguine

2 cans of tomato sauce

3-4 cloves of minced garlic

2 tbsp of butter

1 cup of heavy cream

2 tbsp olive oil

Parmesan to taste

I love this recipe because its so fast and easy to make. Only 6 simple ingredients and it taste so good!

First off you want to cook your pasta.

While the pasta is cooking go ahead and put the butter and olive oil in a pan until the butter melts.

Once the butter has melted go ahead and pour the two cans of tomato sauce and your minced garlic into the pot. Now let it simmer for 10-15 minutes.

By this time your pasta should be cooked. So go ahead and drain it & set it aside.

After the sauce has been simmering remove from heat and add cream.

Stir until it becomes a beautiful orange. Add pasta and serve!IMG_3449

With mothers day coming up I thought it would be necessary to share just a few experiences as a first time mommy.

Being a mom is seriously one of THE hardest things in my life! Attempting to sleep through the night is a struggle let alone waking up at 7am. When Samuel was a newborn he slept forever! I got to do anything and basically everything that I wanted, it wasnt as hard as I thought, but then… when I least expected it. He started growing. Growing faster than the pesky weeds in your driveway. He awoke every 2 hours to eat, it felt like it would never end. So my husband and I both agreed to take turns of feeding him through out the night, that didn’t go quite as planned. We both would wake up offering to take him and then eventually we would both be sitting on the bed half asleep just waiting and wondering when the baby would fall back asleep.  It was so exhausting.

Lets be real. Diapers. Diapers are totally gross. I cant even remember how many times I was gagging when I went to change a poopy diaper. Josh is more of a mom than I am when it comes to changing diapers. A few weeks ago I was feeding Sammy some prune puree. Gosh, he loves that stuff. I think he downed a whole jar in less than 10 minutes. We went to church; like we normally would on any Sunday morning, everything was fine and dandy or so we thought. We were sitting in the car; going to look at an apartment and all of a sudden it hits me. The smell. The smell of death. We get to the apartment, take Sammy out and just gasp! OH MY GOSH! IT WAS TERRIBLE. Everything was covered. It was all down his legs, all over his back and all over the car seat. We had no where to change him except the trunk.  Here we are in the middle of no where taking everything out of our trunk and sticking our baby in there to change him but, like all good husbands would do; Josh once again changed the little man for me. Sammy hasn’t had prunes since. O.o

Time management was one of the things I’ve always struggled with.  Having a baby made it even worse. I’m the type of person who will sit down on the couch, watch Netflix, and eat a whole bag of Cheetos all while there is a disaster of a kitchen needing my help to be beautiful again. Like at this very moment I’m sitting here typing this out all while Sammy is sleeping and I could be packing or cleaning our room up. I have no idea how you other moms do it. I seriously could just sleep all day and leave a trail of everything I’ve done through out the whole day and not care one bit. #thestuggleisreal.

Keeping my munchkin safe. You never really know how much you care for someone until they are your own. Growing up we don’t realize how much our parents love us, we do whatever we want without a care in the world and just assume everything is going to be okay. I’m always terrified that someone is going to drop Sammy while holding him. I’m constantly checking on him to make sure he’s still breathing while he naps. Being a mom has really opened my eyes and shown me how much my parents care for me and how much I took them for granted when I was a teenager.

Tiny and Free is such a charming shop, one of my all time favorites. Faith is so genuine and works so nice. When I received this adorable teething ring I was kind of skeptical because of how big the ring actually was but Sammy fit that bugger in his mouth. Faith so very nicely put Organic Beeswax and Organic Olive Oil to help smooth the ring out. The filling is organic cotton stuffing, leaf faces are organic cotton flannel and poplin, and details are stitched with scanfil organic thread. It really is such a simple toy for any baby or toddler.

Firming Salts, Firming Oil, Awaken Body Wash & Organic Deodorant

Erbaviva Organic Skincare

I was more than excited to be working with Erbaviva. I adore any type of organic skincare so upon receiving these I couldn’t wait to get into that bath tub and soak up some goodness. I will put a link to their products at the end of this review.

First off, lets talk about the Firming Oil & Firming Salts.

Firming Oil

The base is avocado and olive oils, and if you know anything about oils, these are super nutritious and leave your skin incredibly smooth and the essential oils encourage cell regeneration and promote skin elasticity. The frankincense eases skin inflammation, enhances general skin tone and aids in the smoothing of wrinkles. After having my son I’ve had way too much “extra” skin. I used the oil with the salt as a scrub on my legs in the shower and surprisingly in just 1.5 weeks I was seeing an improvement on how firm my legs were becoming.

Ingredients below

*Helianthus annuus (sunflower) seed oil, *olea europaea (olive) fruit oil, *persea gratissima (avocado) oil, *rosemarinus officinalis (rosemary) leaf extract, tocopherol, *citrus grandis (grapefruit) peel oil, *santalum spicatum (sandalwood) oil, *boswellia carterii oil, *helichrysum italicum flower oil, *lavandula angustifolia (lavender) oil, *vanilla planifolia fruit extract, *antehmis nobilis flower oil.

Firming Salts

I’m not one to use bath salts much but when I saw this one I was quite interested. This organic sea salt infused with organic essential oils of grapefruit, rosemary and frankincense invigorates and promotes a firming and toning effect for the skin. You can use this in two ways. A normal bath salt is perfect but I prefer using it as a bath scrub. I mix some of the Firming Salt and Firming Oil together and gently scrub my legs. It really is perfect if you did not have the time to soak it all up in the tub.

Ingredients Below

Sea salt, *helianthus annuus (sunflower) seed oil, *rosemarinus officinalis (rosemary) leaf extract, tocopherol, *citrus grandis (grapefruit) peel oil, *santalum spicatum (sandalwood) oil, *boswellia carterii oil, *helichrysum italicum flower oil, *lavandula angustifolia (lavender) oil, *vanilla planifolia fruit extract, *antehmis nobilis flower oil

Second of all lets talk about how amazing the Awaken Body Wash  is.

When I go to the mall I almost immediately head over to a bath and body store, I am basically addicted to anything that has to deal with cleansing. This met my expectations and then some! The smell is very clean and fresh. Its very gentle on your skin, I even used it on Sammy. It has  essential oils of lemongrass, melissa and rose. Its a very hydrating wash and delivers an allover clean and enlivened feel without harsh and drying sulfates.

Water, *aloe barbadensis leaf juice, decyl glucoside, glycerin, chondrus crispus (carrageenan), citric acid, sodium benzoate, potassium sorbate,*citrus nobilis (mandarin orange) peel oil, *citrus aurantium dulcis (orange) peel oil, *lavandula angustifolia (lavender) oil, *citrus aurantium bergamia (bergamot) fruit oil, *cymbopogon schoenanthus oil, *pelargonium graveolens oil, *anthemis nobilis flower oil, *zingiber officinale (ginger) root oil, *melissa officinalis leaf oil, rosa damascena oil

Jasmine Grapefruit Organic Deodorant.

I honestly wasn’t quite sure if this was a deodorant or body spray but both works! I tried using it as a deodorant one day and it actually DID work! I prefer it as a body spray just because I sweat like crazy ( I know… Nasty!) and only certain deodorants actually work for me. Although, if you dont have a problem like me, you will absolutely love this as a deodorant. Its a subtle and soft smelling natural deodorant for both men and women.

*Alcohol, *citrus grandis (grapefruit) peel oil, *citrus aurantium dulcis (orange) peel oil, *citrus limon (lemon) peel oil, *zingiber officinale (ginger) root oil, *vetiveria zizanoides root oil, *jasmine officinale (jasmine) flower extract, *cupressus sempervirens leaf/nut/stem oil, *salvia officinalis (sage) oil

*denotes certified organic ingredient
